Bei der Installation der aktuellen Lotus Notes 8 (8.0.1) Version unter Ubuntu Linux 8.04 gibt es eine kleine Änderung. Der Rest der Installation ist wie hier beschrieben und identisch. Geändert hat sich jedoch, das man bei 8.04 nicht mehr die bash/shell kopieren muss. Also lasst hier einfach die Punkte 3 und 4 sowie 10 und 11 weg.

Fehlermeldungen:

Nach dem Starten von Notes 8 kann folgender Fehler erscheinen:
“Could not initialize the application’s security component. The most likely cause is problems with files in your application’s profile directory. Please check that this directory has no read/write restrictions and your hard disk is not full or close to full. It is recommended that you exit the application and fix the problem. If you continue to use this session, you might see incorrect application behaviour when accessing security features.”

Diese Fehlermeldung basiert nicht direkt auf Notes, sonder ist ein Eclipse Fehler in zusammenhang mit Firefox 3. Einfach ein
mkdir ~/.mozilla/eclipse
in der Konsole ausführen und die Meldung verschwindet.
